We believe the Bible is God’s infallible Word and the basis of all Truth. We believe that without faith, it is impossible to please God. It pleases God for us to trust and act upon His promises knowing that he will bless us more than we can think or imagine.
We believe that man without Christ, is spiritually dead and without eternal hope. The only way to spiritual hope is through a personal belief and faith commitment to Jesus Christ. Jesus came to earth, was incarnate, lived a perfect life, was crucified for our sins and rose from the dead to defeat sin and death so we could live an eternal life with the Trinity in heaven.
We believe in the deity of our Lord, Jesus Christ, His virgin birth, His sinless life, in His vicarious and atoning death through shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, His ascension into heaven to the right hand of the Father and in His personal return in power and glory.
We believe there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. We believe the gifts of the Spirit described in the New Testament are operative today and are designed to testify to the presence of God and to encourage the church to fulfill its calling and mission in the world today.
We believe in the absolute dependence upon God as the only way that the ministry will reap an eternal harvest. We believe that prayer is a vital communion with God, a communication to offer praise, thanksgiving, confession and to unleash power, seek guidance, come under His protection and to receive blessings.
We believe every person must be afforded compassion, love, kindness, respect and dignity (Mark 12:28-31; Luke 6:31). Hateful and harassing behavior or attitudes directed toward any individual are to be repudiated and are not in accord with Scripture nor the doctrine of Mt. Carmel Ministries.
We believe that we are followers of Christ. Therefore our conduct is guided by loving God and loving others in our world. We are guided by Scripture and the principles, morality and the indwelling of the Holy Spirit within us (Mark 12:28-32).
We believe in order to preserve the function and the integrity of Mt. Carmel Ministries as the Body of Christ, and to provide a biblical role mode to the organization's members and community at large, it is imperative that all persons employed or who serve as volunteers, agree with and abide by the biblical teachings (Matt 5:16; Phil 2:14-16; 1Thess 5:22).
We exist to strategically partner with other individuals and organizations to bring life giving service to the community through hospitality, inspiration and renewal. We operate the Aqueduct Conference Center for the purpose of conducting retreats, conferences, seminars, camps, worship services, banquets and other events aimed toward Christian enrichment, outreach, education and experiences in Chapel Hill, North Carolina.
We support events and activities centered on prayer, worship, inspiration, renewal and hospitality. We seek to integrate mind, body and soul for the purpose of ministering through hospitality to all. Christian doctrine is lived out in practice and woven into the fabric of our organization.
We believe that God wonderfully and immutably creates each person as male or female. These two distinct, complementary genders together reflect the image and nature of God (Gen 1:26-27). We believe the term “marriage” is defined in scripture as a covenantal, exclusive union between one man and one woman as delineated in Scripture (Gen 2: 18-25).
